Founded on Women’s Equality Day in 2022, Under the Sisterhood began with a simple belief: women’s lived experiences deserve to be seen, heard, documented, and preserved.
Today, we are a global, intergenerational social impact platform powered by storysharing, creating space for women across generations, cultures, and geographies to share what they have experienced, what they have learned, and what they want others to know. Together, we are building what we envision as the Smithsonian of women’s lived experiences: a global living archive of women’s voices and experiences.

Elizabeth Elfenbein is an entrepreneur, innovator, and health advocate working at the intersection of health, equity, and storysharing. For more than 30 years, she has built ideas, brands, platforms, and experiences that shape culture, deepen connection, and challenge how people and organizations think. As Founder & CEO of Under the Sisterhood, Elizabeth is pioneering a new approach to understanding women through the experiences they share. What began with intentional storysharing has grown into a global ecosystem spanning generations, identities, cultures, and geographies, and an emerging body of intelligence revealing patterns, unmet needs, and insights that traditional research and data alone may not capture.
Her belief is simple but foundational: story is not just content. It is infrastructure for understanding people, communities, and systems.
Today, Elizabeth is leading the development of lived experience intelligence, LivedIQ™, bringing together storysharing, research, and innovation to help translate what women experience into insight that can inform healthcare, research, education, innovation, and change.
