Lejla Dauti
Today, we are Marching for Change with Lejla Dauti, a mother, daughter, sister, women’s advocate and a powerhouse domestic-abuse specialist, survivor advocate and founder of the “Lejla Please Tell My Story” movement. She brings lived experience, professional rigour and unshakeable passion to her work: after surviving years of abuse and fleeing genocide in childhood, Lejla built a formidable career on challenging policy reform and training professionals on best practice for supporting victims and survivors.
With credentials as a practitioner and independent domestic & sexual-violence advisor (IDVA), Lejla has been featured in podcasts, documentaries and major media, sharing her story to amplify survivor voices and transform how society responds to abuse.
Her accolades include speaking engagements at the Ministry of Justice and other high-level platforms as an expert voice in trauma recovery and justice reform; Including through her work as a migration sector advisory panel specialist expert in GBVA for women in migrant communities for the London Mayor’s Office
Lejla’s mission is unapologetically bold: to create safe spaces for survivors, disrupt the silence around abuse and deliver evidence-informed healing and recovery that honours survivor strength.
