Nina van Schaick

Today, we're marching for change with Nina van Schaick, a mother, daughter, sister, and midwife, a born “fixer” and now entrepreneur whose purpose was forged over 14 years on the frontlines of birth. She witnessed, again and again, how preventable trauma impacts women and felt that gap personally as both clinician and patient. That moment of reckoning became her inflection point. 

Guided by a deep belief that women deserve evidence‑based protection in their most vulnerable moments, Nina channelled her frustration with the lack of translation of evidence into practice around how we care for the perineum in labour. Today, she serves as the COO and Co‑Founder of PeriPear, bringing her clinical fluency, strategic clarity, and lived experience to a mission rooted in dignity, safety, and women’s bodies being fully seen.
